The Valle d'Itria, also known as the 'Valley of the Trulli', is famous for its picturesque countryside and trulli towns. Rolling hills of patchwork fields divided by dry stone walls separate the picturesque towns valley towns of Alberobello, recently included as one of UNESCO's world heritage site from the colourful and deliciously untouched hilltop towns of Locorotondo, Ostuni, Martina Franca and Ceglie Massapico. Within a short distance are beautiful sandy beaches of the Ionic or Adriatic sea where one can use the free beaches or rent a sunlounge and umbrella in one of the many beach establishments.
