From the swimming pool (shared with the very discrete owners), one looks down over the vineyards to the Lake Garda with its dramatic backdrop of mountains and glacial peaks of the distant Dolomite ranges.

The lively and elegant lakeside town of Desenzano del Garda is nearby and offers summer festivals, fine restaurants, a lively passeggiata in the old part of the village, an internal port, night clubs or just romantic strolls by the lake. Nearby there are many other cosy villages and castles to be explored. The area also boasts two excellent 27 hole golf courses.

Client: The holiday at Monte Pico was fabulous. We were more than satisfied with the standard of accommodation and cleanliness. The Villa itself was beautiful and the owners were very friendly and were only too happy to help out with advice. We would certainly not hesitate in recommending Monte Pico to anybody looking for a holiday in Lake Garda. I would suggest that a little more emphasis be given to the length and gradiant of the driveway in the literature about Monte Pico. If people wish to get Taxis it was necessary for us, on a couple of occasions to walk down to the road, which older people may find difficult. However, I must say that all the Taxi drivers were more than happy to drive you to the door on the way home. Andy B, 10/08/07

Client: We had a wonderful holiday, Monte Pico was such a beautiful place! Paola as well as the owners of the villa were very kind and helped us when we had someproblems, like for example the strike on Milan Malpensa airport..which caused a delay on our flight, and yet we get to stay in Monte Pico until that saturday 28th evening, and that helped us very much! We all fell in love with Italy and the Garda lake area, we also visited Venice, which was a great experience. Thank you very much for all of your services, we have recommended Monte Pico to many people here in Finland. Have a nice summer, Grazie e arrivederci! Milla

Description

At Monte Pico, the owners live in the upper area of the villa and have left the apartment at the ground floor, with separate entrance, for the exclusive use of their guests. The apartment, opening to the front yard of the house, is airy, spacious and comfortably furnished with some art deco pieces.

Floors are covered with timber parquetry and walls are decorated in warm cream tones; ample external spaces are at disposal of guests for barbecues, picnics and outdoor dining. The free shape swimming pool is situated at the top level of the property and is shared with owners (time sharing can be arranged). The owner is a member of the local yacht club: he can organise sailing on the Lake on request.

Position

Monte Pico is situated 5 km west of Desenzano. It is approximately 5 klm from the Lonato or Desenzano beaches.

This locality

Desenzano

Lake Garda, whose waters are famed for their transparency, is the largest in Italy and was much loved by Virgil, Catullus and Goethe. The town of Desenzano is the largest and liveliest in the south of Lake Garda; its central picturesque piazza is situated on a cobbled pedestrian walk that winds its way around the contour of the lake, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the daily passeggiata and inspiring views up the lake. Conveniently close to the main motorway and railway that connects Milan and Venice, it is a great base from which to explore the North of Italy.

Refundable security deposit

A refundable security deposit of € 500.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras.
Additional services and charges - payable locally on arrival (in Euros):
Mandatory cleaning fees: € 80.00 per week including 4 hours of maid service midweek, final cleaning on Saturdays and on departure;
One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €6.00 per change per person;
Late arrival fees. We will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;

Nearby localities

Salo

Salo, in the south-west of the lake is embedded in a long bay and has the longest walkway of any town an the Lake. The historic old town, which dates back to the Middle Ages, is a dense network of streets, alleys and small squares lined with elegant homes, shops, restaurants and bars.

Malcesine

Malcesine lies on the eastern side of the lake. This town is the most important one on this side of the lake and also one of the most beautiful ones on the whole of the lake. The town is framed by the mountains behind and facing others on the opposite side of the lake. The little town still retains its picturesque medieval centre and nerby small harbour and castle.
