Description The ten apartments provide accommodation for groups of 2 to 6, and some apartments are adjoining providing further possibiities for larger groups or families travelling together. There are several outdoor common eating areas providing ample opportunity for alfresco dining or relaxing in the evenings. For the children, there is a large play room equipped with TV, toys, ping pong and lounges for relaxing. There is also a refreshments bar adjacent to the pool serving a good selection of hot and cold items. A further adults lounge has access to satellite TV for those who need to follow the international news. All of the apartments are self catering providing a kitchenette, fridge, microwave oven, cooking utensils and crockery. In addition, barbecues are provided in common areas. Each apartment is also equipped with an open fireplace creating a cosy environment for early spring and late autumn when the Tuscan countryside is either bursting into life or, at the other end busy with the 'racolta' of grapes and olives up to late November.
Position Tenuta la Fornace is located approximately 2.9 klm down a side road, off the main road connecting Montespertoli and Certaldo. The last 1.5 klm of the road is unmade, but in good condition. Distances - Bar and small shops: The bar at the tenuta sells milk, bread and a few essentials. Otherwise there are some small shops at a village at 3 klm from the tenuta

La Fornace - 1 bedroom The one bedroom apartments are spacious and decorated in typical Tuscan country style. Two of the apartments are situated on the ground floor of a small building with four apartments and each have separate entrances from the lawns. A further two of the apartrments are situated at the rear of the main structure with views over the hills and vinyards. All 1 bedroom apartments have a living room with sofabed which could accommodate one or two extra people.

La Fornace - 2 bedroom The four, two bedroom apartments vary in terms of space and configuration, but all are furnished in a comfortable Tuscan country style and offer pleasant views, self catering facilities and a fireplace. Each has two bedrooms and a bathroom, however, prices may vary slightly according to the actual characteristics described below.

La Fornace - 3 bedroom There are three, three bedroom apartments for rental at Tenuta la Fornace. Apartment Falco (hawk) has three generous bedrooms and overlooks the countryside. The spacious living room also has a large sofabed that could accommodate a further two persons if required. The apartment Quaglia (quail) has three bedrooms sleeping five guests, and also has a sofabed. There is a discount off the quoted prices for this apartment as it is a little smaller and sleeps one less, so please send in a query noting that you may be interested in this apartment for a quote.

Special Notes for Tenuta la Fornace Please refer to our Terms and Conditions in respect to additional charges and extras applicable to rental villas and apartment accommodation. Refundable security deposit A refundable security deposit of €100.00 is payable on arrival at the villa (can be in equivalent $US or £GBP). The deposit will be refunded on final inspection excepting in the event of damage or for the deduction of extras. Services included and extras - Included in the holiday apartment rental are electricity, gas, house linen (not pool towels), use of the pools, solarium, outdoor areas, BBQ's.
- Cleaning fees and final cleaning are included;
- Coin operated washing machines are available in a communal laundry;
- One set of bed and bath linen per week is included in the rental cost. Additional changes can be requested and will be charged at €12.00 per change per person;
- Late arrival fees - we will endeavour to accommodate, but cannot guarantee to satisfy requests for late arrival. The cost of pre-arranged late arrival (if available) will be advised at the time of booking. Unforeseen delays resulting in out of hours arrivals (if available) will incur a charge of € 50.00 payable to the local manager;
Other information - Arrival time is 4pm to 7:30pm on the day or arrival:
- The season for pool opening is from the beginning of May to the end of September (may be extended into October depending on the weather);
- Baby sitting services can usually be organised locally by the area manager;
- A free wine tasting is offered at the cantina of the Tenuta on Monday evenings
- The bar is opened from May to September and stocks snacks and beverages. Fresh bread available daily. A weekly meal is organised in the gardens to meet other guests (extra);
- A guided visit to the wine cellars with tasting is included and operates on Tuesday evening at 5pm;
- Mountain bikes are available for hire;
- A vegetable garden is maintained and guests are offered the produce for free
