Features- Country location near the seaside
- Spacious villa for 8 guests
Description Villa Morellino is built on two floors, with the kitchen, dining and living areas on the ground floor and the bedrooms facing east and west on the upper floor. The large living area of 130 sqm is very inviting, it offers plenty of comfortable seating around a huge working fireplace, a billiard table and numerous French doors opening on one side to the garden and on the other to a covered veranda. The furnishings are very pleasant, complemented by lovely paintings, beautiful colored fabrics, warm cotto floors, solid chestnut timber doors. A wide portico hosts a dining table, chairs and sofas with barbecue facilities, while the pool is set in a panoramic terrace at a few yards from the villa. The kitchen with its adjacent dining room with open fireplace is in keeping with the comfortable standard of the living room. The kitchen is spacious, luminous and well equipped, opening out onto the garden area. Adjacent to the dining room, a small foyer with divans provides access to the staircase to the first floor where there are four bedrooms, each with private bathroom. All have ceiling fans, except for the north facing bedroom which does not heat up. The villa, which is part of a 420 ha estate, is surrounded by spacious lawns which are completely fenced. For security the caretaker's family (couple with a boy) live in a unit attached to one end of the villa and are available for service and assistance. The swimming pool is in the lawn area approximately 50m from the villa. Although in a secluded country position, some distant road noise can be heard in the front of the garden when the wind blows from the west. We did not consider this to be a major issue.
Position Villa Morellino is very well positioned at short distance from the Tuscan Caost , while several golf courses are just a few minutes drive away. Golf Club Punta Ala: 17 km ; Golf Club Toscana, Gavorrano / Grosseto: 10 km Etruscan archaeological sites (including Vetulonia, Roselle, Populonia), the hot springs of Saturnia and the Uccellina WWF reserve few of the many possible destinations. Massa Marittima
In the north of the province of Grosseto (Tuscany), in an area that goes from the city of Grosseto all the way up to the Alta Maremma, there has developed a winemaking tradition that is closely linked to the history of Massa Marittima and the medieval villages that crown the hilltops of this rugged land. Nine different varieties of wines are produced under this appellation in this hilly land - an appellation that valorizes a series of vine varieties that have been part of Grosseto's winemaking history since times immemorial. Special attention is due to Vermentino, a white wine of distinctive character, and to two types of Vin Santo, one white and one red. The red Vin Santo is also known as Occhio di Pernice. It is a full-bodied and intense wine.
Sovicille
Within a stone's throw to the south of Siena, Sovicille is a wonderful area of gentle hills scattered with patchwork olive groves, vineyards and medieval villages. It is a peaceful area where one can enjoy the peaceful Tuscan country lifestyle whilst having easy access to Siena. Siena is equipped with large carparks and elevators that make it very quick to get to the town centre.
