Once richly forested with pine trees, the rich and famous have established their large villas amongst the greenery in the streets behind the beach and it has retained its shady and laid back character.
Forte dei Marmi is conveniently positioned within easy excursion distance of the marble mines, Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Porta Venere and even Florence. It is on the main trainlines connecting Genoa, Florence and Parma. Pisa airport is approximately 34km.
