Features - Peaceful country location
- Lovely historical structure with church
Description The villa is located on a hill in a large cereal estate featuring pencil pine lined roads and wonderful views over the valleys. Once the centre of a small hamlet, the accommodation has been designed around a Church and the original chapel is at the centre of the villa (restricted access). Within walking distance there is a further historical villa with its own gardens and pool at about 800m away. The two properties can be rented together for very large groups or for special events (ie weddings). Entering the villa from the driveway and gardens, one enters into a large dining/living room with large arches typical in early Tuscan villas. The interiors have been restored whilst preserving the rustic style of the structure and the furniture in raw Tuscan fabrics that complement the rustic style of the structure. The accommodation winds its way around the back of the church and a lovely reading/sitting room at the back provides a quiet area for rest or relaxation. At the rear of the church, there is a large living / dining room with kitchen and both open out onto a large furnished portico overlooking the swimming pool area, surrounding trees and distant fields. There are seven bedrooms of which one bedroom with en-suite bathroom is positioned in the front corner of the ground floor (away from the pool). The other six bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are located on the first floor, accessible from two internal staircases. The swimming pool (4m x 10m) is set in the garden and has wonderful views over the rolling hills and distant villages. There are some large shady trees for those seeking an afternoon sietsa and sun lounges and umbrellas are provided around the pool area. The most popular spot of the villa is the large covered veranda where guests generally eat all their meals enjoying fragrant breezes and stunning outlooks.
Location The villa is situated approximately 200m up a gravel estate road from which only the two villas in the area are accessed. Occasionally the 'contadini' (local farmers) may pass in their three wheeled Ape vans to work in the fields. Distances - Vescovado di Murlo - 3km (general food supplies, bank, trattorias and cafes)

An agricultural production centre of the ancient Republic of Siena, Monteroni d'Arbia is well recognisable for its imposing medieval fortified mill dating to the beginning of the fourteenth century.
The imposing structure of Cuna farm rises on the road from Siena, a well preserved example of a medieval fortified grain tower (13th century), originally belonging to the Hospital of Santa Maria della Scala which used it as a container for grain.
