Local Macelleria Lurlario is located in a butchery, which makes for an interesting experience. 'Essenza Ristorante is an elegant fish restaurant. San Michele Salentino is only 5 minutes away and is full of fun activities. The main ones take place on Piazza Marconi, which also has a lot of trendy cafes. Piazza Dante is a smaller piazza that serves as a gathering place for people.
Ceglie Messapica is another small town that has one of best preserved historical centres. The town is also known as a gastronomic center with many restaurants serving authentic local food. Giovedi Settembre is a party in the country style of food, dancing and drinking that takes place in the autumn to clear out the old wine barrels and make way for the new harvest. Villa Angela is located 15km from the Carovigno Marina, a beautiful beach.
