In Alberobello, there are many trulli, a type of stone building with a conical roof built centuries ago. The roofs are made of limestone slabs, and the walls are made of local stone. There are many trulli that are still being used as homes, businesses, or shops. In Puglia, trulli are considered to be a symbol of the region and a major source of tourist attraction.
The Valle d'ltria, or Itria Valley, is also nearby. It is well-known for its picturesque villages, historic towns and wooded slopes. You can also visit Locorotondo and Martina Franca as well as Ostuni and Cisternino.
