Tuscany is near Siena, Florence. Here you can visit charming villages, towns like San Casciano, the Duomo, in Florence, museums galleries, churches, and churches to experience the art and architecture from Renaissance Italy. Coming from the north, San Casciano is the first town you encounter in the Chianti region. It is a lovely medieval village perched on a hill. It's a real gem on the rolling hills covered with vines that characterize this region.
Within the first hairpin bends, you will find small fortifications, parish churches, and hamlets that invite you to explore Chianti. Originally owned by the Florentine Bishops since its foundation, San Casciano was annexed to the Republic of Florence in the 13th century and fortified to defend against Sienese threats. Towers and walls from the medieval era can still be seen around the town. Chianti is home to many world-famous vineyards and restaurants.
10/10Judi’s place was amazing. I came here to celebrate my birthday with friends and we were blown away with how beautiful the villa was. Judi helped us with some lifts to and from a nearby vineyard that we were visiting which was very kind of her as we hadn’t rented cars. The location is close to the bus stop and city centre but the buses don’t run that frequently so I would recommend a car. Other than that we had a brilliant trip and would highly recommend!
10/10We loved staying in Judi’s beautiful villa! The villa is in a gorgeous location in the Tuscan hills and you can watch the sunset right off the patio. There were 7 of us staying for 5 days with lots of room to be together as well as apart, with a large, well stocked kitchen that we ended up cooking 2 dinners in and a beautiful pool that although it was too cold to use, added to the atmosphere. Location was excellent for exploration of Tuscany. Judi and her family were lovely and kind and we hope we will be back again sometime!
9.8/10This is a remarkable and beautiful home. We went with a group of friends to celebrate our collective 40th birthdays and had a wonderful week. Highlights included (a) the swimming pool and its stunning view, and the outdoor patio and dining area and its view -- we had the most incredible sunsets every evening as we ate dinner and it was everything we dreamed of, (b) the gorgeous and historic home, with plenty of space, and (c) the responsive support and advice from Judi and family, who were always helpful and timely in their replies and connected us with great experiences as well as transportation. Everything was as advertised, and we felt we got great value. Some things to know (a) there are mosquitoes and a bunch of us got bitten -- definitely bring spray, which we failed to do, (b) while there is a bus it comes infrequently and is not always convenient and tix must be purchased in advance -- plan to have a car or to pre-book transit, and (c) the water in the house isn't potable so you will need to go to town to refill the provided bottles or bring your own.
10/10Amazing house!!! Everything was perfect - thank you.
10/10A truly amazing spot in mids of the Tuscan landscapes. Beautiful house, lots of space and renovated with lots of love and respect to the original architecture. Very nice pool with a stunning view over the hills and the beautiful sunsets. The house is located in the in the Chianti region, in the middle of olive trees and vineyards, 20min away from Firenze, 40min from Siena, close to a grocery shop and a 10min walk away from one of the most amazing wine tasting opportunites (Poggio Torselli). Judi and her husband and son have been a wonderful team, making our stay just perfect, trying to help us whenever they could. The communication was flawless and we could always count on them whenever we needed help. This is probably the best place I've been in the last years that I have used Airbnb - I can only recommend it! If you're looking for a place to really "take off from everything" and letting yourself being spoiled by just wonderful nature, a beautiful house and great people, this is it.
